PROXY Pro 6 introduces a new module for remote management, which will allow helpdesk technicians and IT administrators to access hardware and software inventory information and change configuration settings on remote computers safely and quickly.

Adding the new remote management features to widely deployed remote access and remote control capabilities, PROXY Pro 6 will enable helpdesk technicians and IT administrators to execute the entire remote support lifecycle from their desktops: Reach remote computers anywhere, anytime with PROXY Pro Remote Access; resolve support issues collaboratively with PROXY Pro Remote Control; and, monitor and remediate configuration problems with PROXY Pro Remote Management.

PROXY Pro 6 Remote Management is Safe, Secure

PROXY Pro 6 Remote Management uses Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) to query and change settings on remote computers. It does not require users to enable RPC or file sharing, and thus avoids a security loophole that other implementations face.

PROXY Pro 6 Remote Management main capabilities include:

  • Inventory: ability to generate reports of hardware and software assets on remote computers
  • Configuration Management: ability to view and change configuration of remote computers without interrupting current logged-on user; examples of configuration options available to helpdesk technicians include system settings, users & groups, processes, services, shared files, registry settings, power management settings and event logs

PROXY Pro 6 Supports Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 Platforms

PROXY Pro 6 introduces several other new features, including support for Windows Vista and Window Server 2008 platforms. Other new features include:

    Bandwidth throttling: ability to restrict amount of bandwidth used for capturing remote computer desktop; useful for WAN and other low bandwidth networks
  • Automatic logoff: ability to logoff current end-user's session before starting a remote support connection; security setting for environments that allow unattended access to remote computers
  • Chat: ability for multiple helpdesk technicians, connected to the same remote computer, to participate in an instant messaging chat room; useful for collaboration and training
  • File Transfer resume: ability to continue the transfer of a large file or a large directory of files, if connection is dropped unexpectedly
  • Conversion of screen recording files to .wmv format: ability to convert proprietary PROXY Pro screen recording files to .wmv format; useful for viewing/editing PROXY Pro screen recordings with industry standard video tools

PROXY Pro 6 is available in 2 editions: PROXY Pro 6 Workstation Edition, which uses a simple peer-to-peer network model, is ideal for SMBs and enterprise workgroups.
