New Version Notice - PROXY Pro v11.1 is now available!

We have just released PROXY Pro v11.1!

This major software upgrade is available from the Download page on our website and our upgrade guides are located on the Documentation page.

New Features

This major release includes significant new features, including: 

• Improved Authentication Support: support for Entra Workforce (single tenant), External ID (CIAM), and Government Cloud directories is now available. Authentication Manager settings now validates settings and provides guidance as to possible issues or misconfiguration. Additionally, the application client secret expiration date from EntraID is reported in the Authentication Manager settings page.

• Improvements in Web Console: new Local IP Addresses column in Host displays (for Host v11.1 or later); new option to remove the “Quick Connect PIN” from the Web Console landing page.

• Installed Master improvements: Local IP Addresses column for Gateway-based Hosts (when using Gateway v11.1 and Host v11.1, or later); preference in Master Settings > Other Services > Full Screen to prefer full screen on single monitor or entire desktop; File Transfer improvements fix UI glitches and some performance and functional edge cases; command line option “/t” to specify Host type to ensure Master provides appropriate user experience for Hosts connected to via the command line; removed requirement for D3D acceleration for client to support H.264 encoded video playback; Master now puts up prompt to recover state if the Windows Restart Manager restarts the Master, or if the Master terminates abnormally.

• Host for Windows improvements: Host now has settings for watermark size and location, and the blank screen color and message.

• Macintosh and Mobile now enables TLS v1.3: Host and Masters now built on updated runtime thatuses TLSv1.3 for connections, when the underlying operating system supports it.

• Improved Remote Terminal feature: Remote Terminal was introduced for Windows only in v11.0. In this release, it’s extended to Host for Mac as well as the new experimental Host for Linux, and the login sequence has been improved on all platforms.

o Macintosh support: The Host for Mac adds Remote Terminal alongside its existing Remote Control service. Connections are made through the Gateway from the Web Console or the Windows Master. A user can log in as the account currently at the Mac console, as another local account, or, when permitted, as root.

o Login and session changes (all platforms): Failed login experience improved with better error message and guidance for how to specify domain account; default shell now starts automatically on login (Windows default shell is Command Prompt; Mac default shell is user’s configuration); can now change login within a Remote Terminal session: using login command again switches to a different user within the same session, without reconnecting; the login prompt now reports the account that is logged in and the shell in use; Remote Terminal connections are now listed in the Host's Active Users list.

• EXPERIMENTAL Host for Linux: A port of the Host for Mac is now available for testing on Debian x64, Ubuntu x64, and Mint x64. The Host is provided as a .DEB package for x64 architecture only, and supports a command-line interface providing Remote Terminal services (only – it does not provide GUI remote control at this time). Like Host for Mac, it keeps a reverse connection to a PROXY Pro Server and is therefore accessible on-LAN or off-LAN through the system, with access controls managed by the Web Console and Gateway Server.
